Seller's Description
This Formula 233 Thunderbird was painstakingly restored in 2018 with further works in 2020 including a new bimini & barwork. The Cummins QSD2.8L 210HP inboard diesel only has 160 hours clocked and is coupled to a Bravo 3 leg, giving the boat a top speed of 33 knots. Economical cruising at 25 knots will ensure you get to the shelf comfortably with plenty of fuel left in reserve. Amongst the restorative works to this vessel, the upholstery, paint and the workmanship to the all new bimini and bar work is exemplary! A new SIMRAD NSS Evo plotter/sounder combo and Furuno FCV-585 provide the skipper with a clear view of the pelagics below. Two large ice boxes on deck also double as additional seating, with all surfaces reupholstered or trimmed in Sea Deck. She has a custom bait board/bait well with several rocket launchers. A comortable V-Berth up front is very handy for those overnighters and an electric head is a must have should the ladies happen to be on board for the day. Put simply, we have not yet seen a restoration job as impressive as this one and with recent sales history of other Formula vessels, this one is priced accordingly. "Persnickety"adjective Placing too much emphasis on trivial or minor details; fussy. "The owner is very persnickety about the restoration of all of their vessels. "Recent works done by Fremantle's Ascent Shipwrights in October includes:- Total rebuild of gunwale and top deck- Removed any timber and rebuilt with glass- Rebuild planing strakes and two-pack entire hull- New Bimini, clears done June this year with LED lighting replaced throughout boat- Trailer bra was done same timePreviously in 2018:- All deck and bulkheads removed, completely new tanks, deck and bulkheads re-grafted to hull. - 20mm fibreglass composite honeycomb panel was used to keep weight down. - Boat was completely faired and recoated in Awlgrip 2000.- All new upholstery- New electronics and partial rewireShe sits atop a dual axle trailer built in 2017 with electric brakes and stone guards to protect this beautiful vessel from any damage in transit. We urge any serious Formula enthusiast to inspect this vessel. It is an incredible example of what can be done with some creativity, quality shipwrighting and of course, lots of money!
