Seller's Description
Famous in the boating world the Bertram name carries its weight in build quality, ride quality and resale value. Three important points when considering any boat purchase. This example is amongst the best you will expect to find and despite the vintage I doubt a better example of a 45 Bertram exists in WA currently. An amazing extensive list of upgrades and refits have been undertaken in the last handful of years. Please contact Paul for the comprehensive list, there is too much to list in this advertisement !This Bertram 45 is NOT indicative of its vintage !In simple form there has been at least the following carried out :New Detroit engines fitted in 2008 including gear boxesEngine removal and refurbishment - because the vendor is fussy in 2011Full hull paint strip, re prime and re paint 2016The lower station removed and remodelledA bow thruster fittedNew interior and electronics in 2014The hull sand blasted and re coated in 2015$103,000.00 spent on revamping the boat, an extensive list..... In 2016Serviced in November of 2018Antifouled and prop-speed Nov 2019Cutlass bearings Nov 2019This boat is ready to go, I would jump in her and head to the Abrolhos tomorrow !Built to survey in 1989 and commissioned in Victoria in 1990 she ran as a professional charter vessel catching tuna in charter throughout the East Coast until 2007. Professionally extended from 42 to 45 feet in 1998 by Naval Architects SA with paperwork available she stayed in survey until 2010 when the current owners took possession and sailed her to WA, what a trip !This is the biggest of back deck you are likely to find and shaded by the largest of rear awnings built in stainless steel with a double rail design. Access is via a custom swim platform and extra wide transom door. A standard outdoor table setting still allows plenty of room for socialising. Storage throughout and all with upgraded hatches and cockpit carpets. There is so much room I was tempted to break out the quoits for a quick game in the sun. Double saloon doors open onto a HUGE saloon remodelled in 2014 with a change in layout and all lounges upgraded, cushions and upholstery's, air con added and flooring's upgraded to a beautiful timber finish. The lounge and dinette double down as additional berths so space is maximised in all areas. Three steps down the companionway and a truely spacious galley a waits, bigger than some units I have lived in in my younger days. House hold style appliances are a must on any long range vessel and with a Miele 4 element stove and combination electric oven entertaining will be a pleasure. Plenty of fridge space, ice maker, bench top freezer and an amazing amount of storage in classic timber finishes will have everything neatly stowed for a long haul up North. Certainly not lacking in accommodation the forward cabin has a selection of berths with a total of 4 beds, the queen master to Port midship has a private ensuite and if extra berths are required the saloon lounge will offer another 3 and the dinette a further 1, this allows 10 people to sleep in comfort. Friends and family can spend extended time aboard for that trip of a lifetime. Remodelled in 2016 the current fly bridge has a different layout to all others I have seen, making the most of the refit the lounges have been extended and remodelled to better suit the available space. Reupholstered in Marco Suede, a premium finish, the boat looks modern and is very comfortable. Teak finish to the flooring just tops it all off. A host of Fly Bridge covers keep the sun at bay and a committed owner keeps the clears looking fantastic ! A classic Bertram helm greets the skipper with a neat finish with everything easy to the hand. Upgraded Raymarine electronics and digital tachos a nice touch again proving she is well certainly not your average boat for vintagePowered by a pair of Detroit 550 Diesel engines showing sub 900 hours there are many miles left and many adventures to take before this power base needs serious work. Running along with ease at 1800 rpm for around 18/20 knots burning through 120 lt combined makes for ideal cruising along the WA coast. At a sprint she will top 25 knots but is rarely asked to achieve this. The owner mothers the boat around the coast to maximise the running efficiency's and life in the motors. It is well worth the time to look over this unique boat and I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
