FREEDOM IV is a custom built aluminium power catamaran that has been designed with luxury and comfort in mind. The practical design will enable her to reach a top speed of 21 knots and a long range of 1000 miles at 10 knots with 4000 litres of fuel. This enables you to reach remote places such as the Kimberleys. FREEDOM 1V is 19.2 m in length with a 7.5m beam and a shallow 1.1m draft to easily enter any river. She is powered by twin 350 hp Yanmar mains, twin 14 kva 3 phase gensets, 800 a/h house batteries with 240 v inverter, so 240 v is always on tap to run a 6 cu ft scuba compressor, an 850 litre fridge/freezer, and 5 air conditioners in all rooms. She sleeps 8 in 4 staterooms, all ensuite with 4 bathrooms, the master cabin huge with king size bed.Two large TV�s are there to entertain you. A large water maker fills 2000 litre tanks and a unique watercatcher can fill the tanks from one thunderstorm. Her electronics are state of the art with twin 12 inch screens for GPS, sounder, radar, and weather fax. Of course she has autopilot and HF and VHF radios. A big asset is a hydraulic platform at the stern to haul up the dinghy or use as a third swim platform. Her tunnel is a metre high for better comfort in a head chop. Large, torpedo shape bulbs at her bow gives her more stability and a better ride. FREEDOM IV is in full 2B and 2C survey, which means she can take 8 persons overnights up to 200 miles offshore or 14 persons on a day trip. This day limit of 14 could be multiplied by 5 if you need to take a mob in a different survey. Designed for both comfort and practicality specifically for specialised scuba diving, filming, snorkelling, fishing, and most importantly for long range exploring � for that has been his way of life. Even all the shipwrecks that have been discovered are still marked on the GPS, loaded with fish.FREEDOM IV cost well over $2m to build in 2009 and is now for sale for $890,000 plus GST.
