The Rampage 38 Express is a highly capable, quality built express sportfisher. Optioned up with the big 575HP CAT C9 electronically governed diesels, this particular Australian-delivered example has the most desirable configuration. Electronic ZF throttle controls make manouevring this beast a breeze. These boats were built solid and as such she meets all expectations offshore in our tough WA conditions. This particular Rampage is a perfect hybrid between sports fisher and coastal cruiser. Having a sizable cockpit, elevated helm position and deep V hull with shafts makes it a much more desirable choice than your regular sports cruiser offerings, particularly when the sea breeze fills in. For the serious fisherman, there is ample storage for tackle in the dedicated tackle drawers, two huge fish boxes, a live well, outdoor bait prep and sink station with ice boxes either side. HELMAt the helm, a pair of Raymarine displays provide the skipper with a clear readout of the sounder and chart plotter. Electronic throttles, trim tabs and autopilot make skippering a breeze. The helm chair (not currently installed) is removable to create a more open entertaining area on the upper deck level. Access to the saloon area is via a stairwell to the right of the helm. ACCOMMODATIONClassic cherry timber finish to the joinery and cabinetry makes the vessel feel very homely. A large dinette opposite the galley seats 5 and coverts to another double for guest accommodation. The master bunk is up forward, with a large double bed and cabinetry overhead. The bathroom is spacious with a large shower complemented by a rotating screen door. ENGINEERINGThe CAT C9's are a brilliant addition to this boat, with ample power to cruise along at 20-25 knots and capable of exceeding 30 knots at wide open throttle. A Kubota 8kva genset in addition to the solar inverter set up ensure you will never be short on power. Other items such as airconditioning throughout and a desalinator make extended stays at Rotto or the Abrolhos very comfortable indeed.
