2011 National 4x4 Show Melbourne
Organisers say this will be a unique battle of strength between the toughest 4x4 vehicles, with only the strongest surviving!
The invitation-only event is designed to bring the sport to the people - literally. 4x4s will tackle two purpose-built tracks just metres from spectator-lined grandstands.
‘100 Metres of Hell’ is the first challenge and requires competitors to muscle their way up, over and through obstacles without the use of winches.
As the name implies, the second track, ‘City Winch Challenge’ allows the use of vehicle winches, ensuring a path of even greater obstacles to clear.
Competitors will practice on the event’s opening day, Friday September 2, before taking to the tracks for the no-holds-barred competition on Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of September.
“The National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo covers all aspects of the industry,” says Mark Petersen, Event Manager.
“Cruising and touring is without doubt the biggest percentage of the show, but we also like to promote the other aspects that many people enjoy.”
