Special guests confirmed for 2017 National 4x4 Outdoors Show in Brisbane
Returning to Brisbane in 2017 will be one of the most renowned faces of recreational fishing and host of TV's iFish, Paul Worsteling. Paul will be on the new Catch & Cook Stage throughout the event. Catch & Cook merges the popular Fishing and Campfire Cooking Stages and is new to the Brisbane show for 2017.
Joining Paul will be Steve 'Starlo' Starling from The Offroad Adventure Show, offering truckloads of angling and touring experience and knowledge of the outdoors lifestyle.
The Catch & Cook Stage will also feature local Channel 7 weather man and fishing enthusiast Paul Burt, along with Nigel Webster from AFN Fishing & Outdoors performing both a fishing and cooking segment. Also appearing, and new to the show, are Dazza, Kazza and Big Red from My Fishing Place.
Hosting the Catch & Cook Stage will be Ex-AFL legend and host of The Great Australian Doorstep, Peter 'Spida' Everitt. With his love of the great outdoors, Spida will tell you his best tales from the outback and teach you how to cook some fantastic campfire dishes.
On the Waeco CFX Outback Stage is Jase Andrews and Simon Anderson from All 4 Adventure. Jase and Simon will share their best tips and tricks for a successful 4WD Adventure, so come along to listen to some of their stories from the track and take away some invaluable advice for your next adventure.
Also joining the line-up of special guests will be 4WD legend and outback camping expert John 'Roothy' Rooth, along with Rick & Jamie from the Offroad Adventure Show and Graham & Shaun from 4WD Action.
To round out the special guest appearances, ex-cricketing legend and fishing enthusiast Merv Hughes will be appearing on the Waeco CFX Outback Stage on Saturday 1st April. Visitors to the Show should be sure to schedule in time to hear Merv's famous yarns.
Sponsor of the Show's Proving Ground, Eagers Holden, will bring along their ambassadors, including Supercars drivers Craig Lowndes, Shane Van Gisbergen and Jamie Whincup, and Rugby League stars Petero Civoniceva and Trevor Gillmeister. Each of Eagers Holden's special guests will be available for autographs and photographs at the event.
"Each of our special guests are equipped with insider tips and some fantastic stories to tell when it comes to the great outdoors - whether it's the latest fishing spot, how to get the most out of your tools and products, or even how to get started in fishing or four wheel driving, it's worth taking a few moments to find out what advice they can offer you," Event Director, Paul Mathers said.
Back by popular demand will be a revamped Action Arena featuring the Offroad Rush Team, gymkhana style Quad Bike racing, with two new features being sheep dog trial and horsemanship demonstrations. There will also be the Eagers Holden Proving Ground to keep the family entertained throughout the three-day event.
Also new to the Show this year is the Base Camp, an interactive presentation featuring your favourite exhibitors in a free and fun campground environment. Visit the Base Camp to "try on" the outback lifestyle and see how it fits. Grab some tucker, sit around the campfire, listen to the bush balladeer and swap your best bush tales.
